What Parents Actually Want

You don’t want a helper who just gets through the day.

You want someone who grows, takes pride in her work, and becomes genuinely more capable over time. Here’s what most parents quietly wish for — and rarely say out loud.

😔

“I want her to take pride in her work.”

Not just finish tasks and clock out. You want a helper who cares about doing things well — because she understands why it matters, not because she’s watching the clock.

📈

“I wish she would grow — not stay the same.”

Six months in, and she’s no better than day one. No progress, no ambition, no upward path. You want someone who is becoming more capable, month after month.

🎯

“I want a professional, not a pair of hands.”

Someone who understands child development, safety, nutrition, hygiene — not someone who follows orders and hopes for the best.

🛡️

“I want to trust her — not constantly check her.”

CCTV, spot checks, reminders every hour. Supervising is exhausting. You want to hand over the day with confidence, not anxiety.

🏆

“I want her to feel proud of what she does.”

When work feels like an endless job with no future, effort fades. When it feels like a real career with progress and recognition, everything changes.

✅

“I want to know she’s genuinely competent.”

Not assumed. Not hoped. Proven. You want evidence of what she can actually do — not impressions, and not a certificate of attendance.

None of this is a character flaw. It’s what happens when capable people are given no framework to grow in. That’s exactly what HK SafeKids is built to change.

What This Is

A competency-based training framework — built for the real world.

Most helper training stops at the classroom door. HK SafeKids is different. It is online helper training for employers — a workplace training framework delivered on the job, in your home, by you, and assessed by you. Real competency is proven where the work happens, not in an exam hall.

👩‍🏫

Employer-led, on the job

You are the trainer. You know your home, your children, your standards. HK SafeKids gives you the curriculum, the procedures, and the verification tools to deliver professional training in your own home.

📋

Competency-based, not classroom-based

Every course in the framework is built around real workplace procedures — written by vocational education and risk specialists. She learns the theory, then applies it in the home the same week.

✅

Employer-assessed competence

Every skill your helper demonstrates is verified by you — the person who actually witnessed it. This isn’t a test. It’s employer-attested competency, recorded permanently.

📄

A portable career record

Every verified competency is added to your helper’s Professional Passport — a lifelong, employer-verified CV that follows her to every future placement. Skills leave with the helper, not the agency.

How Training Actually Works

Learn. Apply. Verify. Certify.

The system works in a four-part loop — repeated for every course, every skill, every level. This is what separates a living competency framework from a dead certificate.

1 📘

Learn

Your helper completes short theory modules — 5–10 minutes a day. Available in English, Traditional Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, and Filipino.

2 🏡

Apply on the job

The training is immediately put into practice in your home. Daily tasks, care reports, and real work — the applied, on-the-job side of every course.

3 ✅

Verify

You confirm the skills you’ve actually witnessed — not a test, not a guess. Your professional judgement as an employer is the competency standard.

4 📄

Certify

Verified competencies are recorded with a 2-year validity. Your helper’s Professional Passport is updated. The certification travels with her — for life.

Level 1 · Foundation

Operational Care

The essential foundation of professional household care. Four core courses every helper should master in her first placement.

🛡️
Child Safety and Risk Management
Create a secure environment where children are protected at all times — fall prevention, poisoning, fire safety, water safety, and emergency response.
🧼
Health and Hygiene Standards
Maintain a clean, hygienic environment that promotes health — handwashing protocols, surface hygiene, illness prevention, and infection control.
🧹
Household Cleaning and Organization
Ensure the home remains clean, hygienic, organised, and efficiently run — from daily routines to seasonal deep-cleaning procedures.
🍽️
Meal Preparation and Food Safety
Essential food safety practices, allergy management protocols, cross-contamination prevention, and nutritional standards.
Level 2 · Proficiency

Developmental Care

Deeper capability in child development, behaviour, and professional conduct — for helpers ready to move beyond basic care into genuine partnership.

💛
Emotional Care and Behaviour Guidance
Provide calm, respectful, and supportive care to help raise a happy, confident, and well-behaved child — positive guidance, emotional regulation, and age-appropriate boundaries.
🧠
Child Development and Learning Support
Age-appropriate activities, conversation, and creative play — the foundation for a child’s future learning, language, and cognitive development.
💬
Professional Conduct and Communication
Clear guidelines for professional behaviour and communication within the employer’s home — boundaries, confidentiality, and respectful communication.
🚨
Adaptability and Emergency Preparedness
Handling unexpected situations, adapting to diverse family needs, and responding effectively to emergencies — medical, environmental, and household.
Level 3 · Expertise

Specialist Care

Age-specific expertise for every stage of a child’s development — so your helper can grow with your family through every phase.

👶
Newborn / Infant Care
Guidelines for the safe, hygienic, and nurturing care of newborns and infants — feeding, sleep safety, hygiene, and developmental milestones.
🧸
Toddlers & Preschoolers
Consistent care routines for toddlers and preschool-aged children — toilet training, mealtime routines, play-based learning, and safe exploration.
📚
School-Age Children
Support for children aged 6–12 in becoming capable, responsible, and socially confident — homework help, routine management, and independence building.
📱
Teenagers (13+ years)
Evidence-based framework for supporting teenagers — respectful boundaries, emotional support, academic encouragement, and appropriate independence.

🕒 Certifications expire every 2 years. Helpers must continue their education and prove their competence to renew. This ensures your family always receives current, professional care — and turns a one-time course into a living standard that evolves with your family’s needs.

👨‍👩‍👧

For Employers

“You are not a supervisor. You are a parent who deserves a helper who is genuinely competent — and can prove it.”

The Employer Value Case

Peace of mind, backed by evidence.

Most families hire a helper and hope for the best. HK SafeKids gives you online, workplace-based training and a competency verification system that replaces hope with evidence — without turning you into a full-time trainer.

  • 📘 Structured curriculum, ready to deliver. Twelve courses across three levels. You don’t have to design a training program — it’s already built by vocational education specialists.
  • ✅ Verify what you see. When your helper demonstrates a skill, you confirm it. The system records the date, the course, and the competencies — permanently.
  • 💌 See the evidence daily. Daily care reports, task logs, and skill verifications give you a continuous picture of competence — not a single snapshot.
  • 🛡️ Safety profiles that work. Allergies, medical notes, special needs, environment risks — stored in one place your helper can access instantly. With safety tips for each condition.
  • 📈 Daily reporting and trends. Structured reporting on children and household operations — so you notice changes in mood, appetite, sleep, or activity before they become a problem.
  • 🎓 Build your helper’s career. Every verified competency strengthens her Professional Passport — making her more valuable, more engaged, and more likely to stay with your family.
  • 🤝 Partnership, not hierarchy. A shared framework that treats both of you as professionals working toward the same goal. Your helper feels respected. You feel confident.

  • 🎯 Know what excellence looks like. Clear procedures, clear expectations, clear verification. No guessing, no mixed signals.
  • 🏅 Real, recorded recognition. Every verified competency adds to your Professional Passport. Your skills are documented — not just claimed.

📘 A word from Dean — Our Managing Director

What the HK SafeKids Certified Helper Program is

The HK SafeKids Certified Helper Program is a workplace-based, competency-based professional development program. It combines short structured courses with real application in your home, verified by you, the employer. The certificate is an in-house record of attendance and verified workplace competency — issued when your helper completes specific training courses and demonstrates the corresponding skills in your home.

Why it’s not a classroom certificate

Two days in a classroom tells you someone attended. It does not tell you what they can actually do in your home. We built a competency-based program instead of a formal qualification — on purpose. Real competency in domestic care is proven where the work happens, not in an exam hall. That’s why a HK SafeKids Certified Helper carries skills-based evidence of competency — verified by the person who sees the work every day.

Who delivers the training

The training materials provided on this platform are guides and reference documents for employers to use at their discretion. All training and competency assessments are conducted by the employer in the workplace. HK SafeKids provides the curriculum, procedures, and verification tools — you provide the training and judgement.

What we cannot guarantee

HK SafeKids does not confer any professional licence or guarantee that any procedure will be correctly applied by a helper. The ultimate responsibility for the safety and welfare of the family remains with the employing parent.

What we do guarantee

We guarantee that every course, procedure, and verification step is built by vocational education and risk management specialists with over 30 years of combined experience — and adapted specifically for the domestic work environment in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE.

Helper Training — Questions Answered

Everything you need to know about helper training.

Quick answer: HK SafeKids is online helper training for employers — a helper training app for modern homes. It is an employer-led, competency-based training framework delivered on the job. Three certification levels — Operational Care, Developmental Care, and Specialist Care — with four courses in each. Twelve courses in total. Competence is assessed by the employer, not by a test. Certification is recorded on a lifelong Professional Passport and is valid for 2 years. Training takes 5–10 minutes a day.

What is helper training on HK SafeKids?

Helper training on HK SafeKids is online helper training for employers — a competency-based training framework for domestic helpers, delivered through a helper training app built for modern homes. It consists of three certification levels — Operational Care, Developmental Care, and Specialist Care — with four courses in each level (twelve courses total). Training happens on the job, and competence is assessed by the employer. It is designed for families in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE who want their helper to deliver professional-level care — and be able to prove it.

What are the three certification levels?

The HK SafeKids Certified Helper framework has three levels, each with four courses:

  • Operational Care (Foundation) — Child Safety and Risk Management · Health and Hygiene Standards · Household Cleaning and Organization · Meal Preparation and Food Safety
  • Developmental Care (Proficiency) — Emotional Care and Behaviour Guidance · Child Development and Learning Support · Professional Conduct and Communication · Adaptability and Emergency Preparedness
  • Specialist Care (Expertise) — Newborn / Infant Care · Toddlers & Preschoolers · School-Age Children · Teenagers (13+ years)
Is this a formal qualification?

No — and that’s by design. The HK SafeKids Certified Helper Program is a workplace-based, competency-based professional development program, not a formal qualification. Instead of sitting in a classroom for two days, your helper learns short courses, applies them in your home, and proves competency in real work — verified by you. This is why a HK SafeKids Certified Helper carries skills-based evidence of competency, not just a certificate of attendance.

How long does helper training take?

The training is designed to fit around daily work — 5 to 10 minutes a day. The structured 90-day onboarding program guides the first three months: Days 1–30 establish the foundation, Days 31–60 build the habit, Days 61–90 lock in success. There is no fixed completion date — your helper progresses at the pace that suits your household, with you as the verifier at each step.

Do I need to be a qualified trainer to deliver this?

No. The curriculum, procedures, and verification tools are all pre-built by vocational education and risk management specialists. You don’t need any teaching background — you just need to be the person who witnesses your helper’s work and confirms the skills you see. The system guides you through every verification step.

What happens after my helper completes training?

Every verified competency is recorded on your helper’s Professional Passport — a lifelong, employer-verified CV. Certifications are valid for 2 years. After 2 years, your helper must renew by continuing her education and re-demonstrating competence. This ensures your family always receives current, professional-level care — and turns a one-time course into a living standard.

What are child safety profiles?

A child safety profile is a personalised, always-accessible record for each child in your home — allergies, medical conditions, special needs, developmental stage, and environment risks. Each profile comes with care tips for the specific condition, so your helper has the right guidance the moment she needs it. Safety profiles are a core feature of the platform and are referenced throughout the Operational Care level.

Is helper training available in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE?

Yes. HK SafeKids was designed around the Hong Kong domestic helper environment and is now used by families in Singapore and the UAE who employ live-in helpers. The core standards, safety profiles, and certification system transfer across all three markets. Terminology differs slightly by location:

  • Hong Kong: Domestic helper / Foreign domestic helper (FWD)
  • Singapore: Foreign domestic worker (FDW) / Domestic helper
  • UAE: Domestic worker / Domestic helper
What languages is the training available in?

Training materials and the app are available in English, Traditional Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, and Filipino — so your helper can learn in the language she is most comfortable with.

How is helper training verified?

Verification is done by you — the employer — not by HK SafeKids and not by a test. When your helper completes a course and demonstrates the corresponding skill in your home, you confirm it through the platform. Your confirmation is recorded with a date, the course name, and the specific competencies verified. Verification is valid for 2 years.

How does the 7-day free trial work?

Simple. Register free — it takes under 2 minutes. Then start your 7-day free trial to explore every feature without restriction. If you cancel during the trial, you pay nothing. If you decide to continue, your paid subscription begins automatically after the trial ends.

What if I’m hiring a helper for the first time?

This is exactly when HK SafeKids makes the biggest difference. You get the training curriculum, task list, safety profiles, and verification structure from day one. You don’t have to figure out “what should I be training my helper on” — the twelve courses cover everything, in the right order, at the right pace.
